Planning Your Christmas Party!
The first step in planning a successful Christmas party for your community
group, company or family, is to plan ahead. Many halls, caterers and DJs
book up near a year in advance...so early planning will give you the choice
of the exact services you want! Here is some other information to help you in
planning a successful event...
Make It Festive!
Many hotels and banquet facilities are already decorated for the holiday
season. When booking your facility, be sure to ask about their seasonal
decorations...and save yourself a great deal of money!
Share The Holiday Spirit!
During the holiday season...many organizations need your support to help
others to have a merry holiday season. Read this informative article to learn
more about choosing a charity for your organization. Consider adding some
of the following activities to your Christmas Party:
Encourage guests to bring non-perishable food items for Food Bank
Hold a 50/50 draw, with half the winnings going to a guest, and the other half
to a favorite charity
Hold a silent auction, with proceeds to your favorite charity
Collect new toys for Santa's Anonymous
Collect monetary donations for a favorite charity
Watch the Booze!
If you are responsible for providing the bartending services, or evaluating
your guests level of intoxication...you may want to consider purchasing
"Party Alcohol Liability Insurance". This low cost insurance program will
provide you with liability coverage should anything unfortuate happen to your
guests once they leave your event. Provided by a Calgary-based firm, and
available to events held in Canada...it is great protection for you and your
organization. .
Get Them Home Safe!
Don't allow anyone from your party drink and drive. Here are some great
ways to make sure your guests get home from the party:
If your event is at a hotel, find out about discounted room rates for your
guests for the night
Set up a corporate account with a taxi company, and provide free cabs for
your guests
Contact organizations such as "Operation Rednose" and find out if
volunteers can be on hand for your event
Also consider having the bar close an hour before the end of your
event...allowing your guests an opportunity to sober up!
